iox2 - advanced features

Views & displays

iox2 provides real-time information on computed results, input signals, protocols…

To effectively manage all this information, use the default main screen to monitor all acquired signals and create custom views to enhance your display environment.

Using two screens simultaneously, iox2 maximizes your display area for large experiments in which several inputs are monitored simultaneously.

Main view

This view displays the raw data arriving from the A/D converter.

Tools are available to:

  • zoom on selected traces, autoscale
  • change strip speed and display mode
  • magnify digital values
  • snap and print

Customize your display to simultaneously view original, smoothed and derivative signals.

Custom views

Build full-screen views as needed and use your mouse to browse through your experiment.

Each view is incorporated in your preference, as a mosaic of various types of graphs and data tables. These views and their settings are saved within the configuration.

Signal graphs

Display input signal. Adjust strip speed, mode, and scale as needed.

Data tables

Display values calculated by the analyzer.

Choose between:

  • logged data
  • stored data
  • events logbook
  • adjust data update rate

Trend graphs

Display the change over time of any calculated parameter (e.g. view frequency changes over the last two hours).

Double-click on a trend graph to bring up the original input signal at that point in time, along with all measurement key points (described below).

Alarm panel

Displays selected parameters and triggers external events when one of the values goes out of a predefined range.

Loops graph

Real-time loop analysis of relevant parameters.

Protocols

A protocol consists of a list of tasks, and is a more efficient way of running experiments. Protocols are specific to each site and are saved as part of the configuration. You may create and load as many protocols as you need.

While your protocol is running you may:

  • move to the next task on all or only selected sites
  • skip or repeat a task on a site-by-site basis
  • perform an additional operation not originally planned in the protocol (i.e. inject an extra drug concentration), or repeat an occlusion/recirculation sequence

Function keys

Tasks can be assigned to specific function keys (F1 to F12, with optional ctrl and shift modifiers) for easier and faster execution.

Calculated inputs

Calculated inputs incorporate physical inputs in user-defined mathematical expressions. The user is free to create any expression combining physical inputs, numerical constants, and usual functions. The calculated input is processed just like physical inputs: it can be streamed on disk, analysed, replayed…

Example (for ecg experiments):
Use leads LI and LII to calculate leads LIII, aVF, aVR and aVL.
