powerful implantable telemetry solution for high-fidelity pressure measurements
pressure sensing redefined in conjunction with Telemetry Research and
Millar Instruments, emka TECHNOLOGIES offers a reliable and powerful implantable telemetry solution for high-fidelity pressure measurements
Traditional methods for recording pressure often use a fluid-filled
catheter with a gel plug in the tip and a remote sensor. catheter tips
require regelling upon reuse and are prone to clotting, eventually
requiring expensive replacement of the catheter. however, the new TRM
transmitter features a solid-state Millar sensor at the tip of the
catheter, eliminating the need for fluid. this means that pressure is
measured directly at the tip and the catheter can be placed in almost
any location. an accurate recording can be made without movement
artifact or effect of gravity. upon explant, the transmitter is ready to
use again after a simple clean.
features
- no gel - pressure tip catheter
- no battery to replace: the inductive power system recharges
transmitters within the animal, even while monitoring. this enables
lifetime monitoring and minimizes the downtime and expense of
transmitter refurbishment
- high-frequency sampling (2000 Hz) means accurate measurement of fast events (eg dP/dT)
- transmitters send data on different channels removing the need for special caging. Monitor multiple cages in a room, multiple animals in a cage
- limited drift - the new TRM53P transmitter has an extremely low baseline drift with chronic implantation (<2 mmHg per month)
four easy-to-use components make a complete system
- a small, fully implantable TRM telemeter
(7 cc in volume) incorporating a sensor-tipped catheter that measures,
processes and transmits the pressure signal from within the animal - the
transmitter is suitable for animals 200 g and up and is ideal for rats
where inductive charging provides power continuously to enable long-term
or repeated use
- a SmartPad receiver and charger which can capture digital data from multiple telemeters within a 5 m range - 16 distinct channels are available for
communication
- a configurator to monitor batteries and set frequencies on the SmartPad
- we provide a complete acquisition and analysis solution with our iox software - all receivers output simple analog voltages allowing you to use your existing software platform if you prefer
The TRM54P implant is suitable for all animals over 200 g (ideal for rats) and transmits 1 pressure signal (500Hz) up to 5 m.
Setup enables continuous and stress-free charging and monitoring.
Used with the SmartPad receiver and charger.
