Courtney Jenkis

Charles River Laboratories

Bio: Courtney Jenkins is a Senior Manager at Charles River Laboratories in Ashland, Ohio, where she has been with the company since 2012. She specializes in ECG analysis and training, supporting both site-level and global efforts to standardize and advance safety pharmacology practices.

In her current role, she leads the ECG data analysis group within the safety pharmacology team, with responsibility for quality, communication, and operational execution, and serves as a Principal Investigator for safety pharmacology endpoints in toxicology studies. Courtney earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from The Ohio State University in 2011 and holds the Safety Pharmacology Society’s DSP certification which she earned in 2021. She has also contributed to multiple SPS committees, including the ECG Working Group, helping to develop and share knowledge resources aimed at advancing scientific understanding in safety pharmacology.

Ken Kearney

Blueprint Medicines

Bio: Ken Kearney received a Bachelor of Science degree from Ashland University in 2005 and received my DSP in 2016. He is currently the Director of Toxicology in Preclinical Drug Safety at Blueprint Medicines. In his current role, he is responsible for developing and implementing toxicology strategies for multi-disciplinary program teams, with critical responsibilities of developing target safety evaluations to de-risk development portfolios.  He supports molecular candidates through all stages of the drug development pipeline from discovery to preclinical and throughout the lifecycle of clinical evaluation.

Prior to transitioning into the pharma industry, he was the Director of Safety Pharmacology at Charles River Laboratories in Ashland, OH for 19 years. He remains an active member of the Society of Toxicology and Safety Pharmacology Society. Within SPS he has served on several committees and is also a member of the ECG working group.
