Techniques & Measurements

This page lists techniques and measurements employed by
the easyMATRIX3 system.

easyTEL telemetry setup-for-mice

Implanted telemetry

Physiological measurements are captured and amplified by a an easyTEL* surgically implanted in single-housed subjects, and wirelessly transmitted to an analog receiver under the cage.

The easyMATRIX3 device, placed between the receiver and the computer, digitizes and encodes the signals that are sent to the acquisition computer running IOX2 software via Ethernet. No separate Analog to Digital acquisition card is required.

Analog signal acquisition

Analog signal acquisition

The easyMATRIX3 device is used to interface between the analog sensor and the acquisition computer. It acts as a signal conditioner and analog-to-digital converter which transfers data to the computer via an Ethernet connection. The high resolution and wide input range accommodate signals ranging from several microvolts to up to ±10 volts.

Biopotential electrodes

Biopotential electrodes (e.g., ECG, EEG, EMG) can be connected directly to the easyMATRIX3 with no pre-amplification necessary.

Strain gauge-based transducers

Strain gauge-based transducers (e.g., contractile force, blood pressure) can be connected to the easyMATRIX3. The easyMATRIX3 provides precision power for Wheatstone Bridge-based sensors, such as strain gauge-based transducers.
