System Configuration & Extensions

emkaPACK4G-telemetry-setup

An external transmitter is worn into a jacket and provides physiological signals from each animal.

Various sensors are plugged to the transmitter:

  • External electrodes to record up to 9-lead ECG
  • 1 or 2 belts to record lung volume by Respiratory Inductive Plethysmography (RIP)
  • An inflatable cuff placed on limb or tail for non-invasive blood pressure
  • A thermistor to measure skin temperature

3 axis activity and total acceleration is calculated by an accelerometer embedded into the transmitter.

Combine jacket telemetry with a simple easyTEL+ M2 implants to get core temperature and/or arterial blood pressure (Implant and jacket telemetry can be used independently or simultaneously).

From emkaPACK5, non-invasively record:

  • Single and multi-lead ECG
  • Respiration from one or two inductance belts
  • 3-axis acceleration to assess activity

From easyTEL+ implant, acquire:

  • Blood pressure
  • Core temperature

Snapshot-ECG recordings are the mainstay of cardiovascular toxicity studies owing to their cost-effectiveness and vast amount of reference data. The emkaPACK5 can be configured in a mobile snapshot ECG recording system, where the receiver and PC are wheeled into the subject room for maximum efficiency and flexibility.
